Tree planted for groundsman

A tree has been planted to remember the late Michael Vail and in recognition of his 25 years service as a groundsman for Brandon Town Council.

Michael sadly passed away at the age of 81 last month at Brandon Park nursing home.

The tree, which is located along London Road close to the Craft Cabin, was sourced by Councillor Victor Lukaniuk as part of his ongoing work with Brandon in Bloom.

Phil Wittam and Gary Brocklehurst helped Victor to plant the native English miniature lime tree this morning, Saturday 29th April 2017.

Victor said "This tree has been planted to remember a very conscientious groundsman, one of the best we've ever had."

Brandon town councillors will be helping to contribute to the cost of the tree and Victor will be arranging for a plaque to be made to sot alongside.
