Diner wins barrow public vote

Dannii's Diner has won the public vote with their entry into the 'Blooming Barrows' competition which took place at P&R Garden Supplies on Sunday 25th June.

The wheelbarrow, which was created in memory of Dannii Foster who sadly died last year, was voted as the winner by those who turned up at the event throughout the day.

Those who entered the competition also had the chance to have their say in the competitors vote, this was won by the father and son entry from Terry and Jake Newell.

Cllr Victor Lukaniuk (photographed centre) presented the trophy to Dannii's Diner just before 2pm after the votes had been counted.

Along with the wheelbarrow competition, visitors to the event were able to enjoy games, activities, food and drink whilst also getting their hands dirty planting seeds which will be planted throughout the town once they are established.

Rachel Sobiechowski, who organised the event with Brandon in Bloom, said "Paul and I would like to thank everyone who visited our event to support P&R Garden Supplies, Brandon In Bloom, and the numerous groups, schools, clubs and businesses that have joined together to take part in this fantastic gardening event.

"The standard and designs of the wheelbarrows just get better and better every year and it was brilliant to have so many young gardeners taking part this year. Watch out Monty Don, Brandon's youngsters are hot on your heels!"
