Church to host Christmas tree festival

St Peter's Church in Brandon is to host their first ever Christmas tree festival this year with groups, organisations, schools and businesses from across the town invited to take part.

Those who would like to take part are given the opportunity to decorate a Christmas tree, real or artificial and up to 5ft in height, and have it displayed along with the other entrants as part of the event.

On Friday 8th December at 7pm there will be a grand switch on of all trees on display where representatives of those taking part will be on hand to answer any questions about their group or business. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available to those visiting until 9pm.

The church will be open from 2pm on Friday 8th December to allow the trees to be decorated ahead of the evening's switch on and the trees will remain on display until the festival ends on Sunday 10th, a day that will also play host to a grand finale of singing.

Those wishing to take part are asked to email for an entry form so that tree positioning can be planned.

Festival programme:

  • Friday 8 December 2pm to 6pm - Set up
  • Friday 8 December 7pm to 9pm - Grand switch on
  • Saturday 9 December 10am to 4pm - Church open for visitors
