Three injured in Five Bells incident

Three people were injured, one seriously, following a fight which took place at the Five Bells public house in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary told BrandonSuffolk.com: "Police were called on Sunday 3 June at around 1:50am to the Five Bells pub in Market Hill, Brandon following reports that a fight had taken place.

"Officers attended and discovered three people had been injured, one being a male who had allegedly been assaulted with a hammer. He was later taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance and a hammer was recovered by officers.

"A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, for causing grievous bodily harm with intent, for wounding with intent and for causing actual bodily harm. He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

"He was later released under investigation pending further enquiries."
