3 Brandon fire station calls in 7 hours

Brandon Fire and Rescue Service have been called out to three fires across the county in just seven hours between 10am and 5pm today, Friday 20th July.

At 10.52 this morning Brandon were called along with appliances from Thetford, Methwold, Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall and Newmarket to a field fire just off of Chalk Road in Brandon.

This fire was under control by 12.38pm and at 12.50pm another field fire in Ixworth required the attendance of the Brandon crew to assist Thetford, Wickhambrook, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket crews.

A forest fire in Santon Downham, reported at 4.59pm, was the final call for Brandon where they attended along with appliances from Thetford, Ixworth, Mildenhall and Newmarket.
