Body of man found in Brandon river

Police were contacted at around 11.45am today, Thursday 20th December, to reports of a body which had been discovered in the river at Brandon by a member of the public near Riverside Way.

Suffolk and Norfolk Fire & Rescue services were also mobilised to the incident with appliances from Methwold, Thetford, Bury St Edmunds and Woodbridge sent to the scene.

Police investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in the river at Brandon can confirm that the death remains unexplained at this time but is not being treated as suspicious.

Police are continuing their enquiries to formally identify the deceased, but it is believed that the identity of the man is known and the next of kin have been informed.
