Police appeal after Aldi ram raid

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted cash machine theft at a supermarket in Brandon.

It took place in the early hours of this morning, Friday 1st March, at approximately 3:05am at Aldi on the High Street.

A white Ford Transit Van was used to ram the front window of the shop and an attempt was then made to remove the cash machine but this was not successful. Four males, all dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered, then fled the scene empty handed in a white golf car.

Police are carrying out enquiries into the incident and officers would like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of the raid or believes they witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the ram raid.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference 37/11725/19 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
