Election candidates announced

The names of the candidates up for election in May for the new West Suffolk Council and Brandon Town Council have now been announced.

Elections taking place on Thursday 2nd May will see councillors elected for three wards on West Suffolk Council; Brandon East, Brandon West and Brandon Central.

With only three candidates up for election in each of the three wards for Brandon Town Council, these elections have gone uncontested and all nine candidates have been elected.

West Suffolk Brandon East candidates (one seat):

  • Peter Callaghan (Independent)
  • Andy Erlam (Labour)
  • Peter Ridgwell (Independent)
  • Reg Silvester (Conservative)
  • Phil Wittam (West Suffolk Independent)

West Suffolk Brandon West candidates (one seat):

  • Christine Mason (Conservative)
  • David Palmer (West Suffolk Independent)
  • Eddie Stewart (Independent)

West Suffolk Brandon Central candidates (one seat):

  • Susan Dean (Labour)
  • Frank Hart (Conservative)
  • Victor Lukaniuk (West Suffolk Independent)
  • Susan Smith (Independent)

Brandon Town Council East candidates (four seats) (elected, uncontested):

  • Peter Callaghan
  • Peter Ridgwell
  • Phil Wittam

Brandon Town Council West candidates (five seats) (elected, uncontested):

  • David Palmer
  • Matt Rickard
  • Eddie Stewart

Brandon Town Council Central candidates (four seats) (elected, uncontested):

  • Gary Brocklehurst
  • Victor Lukaniuk
  • Clark Whiteman
