A woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire on Sweden Place in Brandon yesterday evening.
Crews were alerted at 6.31pm on Tuesday 29th October and on arrival it was found that the front door was on fire. This was extinguished using one hose-reel jet by firefighters in breathing apparatus.
It was initially believed that persons were in the property but it was established that this was not the case and all occupants were accounted for.
One person was treated at the scene by the ambulance service for smoke inhalation.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue appliances from Brandon and Mildenhall attended, along with Norfolk Fire & Rescue appliances from Methwold, Thetford and Downham Market.
Suffolk Police have confirmed that the front door and letterbox of a property on Sweden Place was damaged during the incident.
A police spokesperson added: “A woman aged in her 40s has been arrested in connection to the incident, on suspicion of arson.
“She was taken to Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where she remains.”
The fire incident was declared closed at 9.07pm.
